I'm an aspiring Classical violinist with degrees in music from Vanderbilt University and the University of Colorado at Boulder. I am currently living abroad in Vienna, Austria, preparing for orchestra auditions.
Favorite Classical composers: Schubert, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Mahler, Verdi, R. Strauss, Beethoven, Brahms, Bach.
I love Classic Rock like Eric Clapton, The Who, The Beatles, The Talking Heads, Jeff Buckley. But more often I listen to Indie Rock. Vampire Weekend, Ted Leo, Cold War Kids, Phoenix, STRFKR, Fanfarlo, and The Phantom Band.
Calvin and Hobbes is the best comic that was ever created.
I only read one webcomic regularly, Bad Machinery (formerly ScaryGoRound), but I highly recommend Hark, A Vagrant! and Girl Genius.
Tolkien, Willa Cather, and John Steinbeck are some of my favorite authors. Also, I love Watership Down by Richard Adams, and The Little Prince by St. Exupery. And mythology and fairy tales fascinate me.
I like foreign films and have a small collection from the Criterion Collection that I rarely watch because I am far more likely to spend 3 hours watching YouTube videos.
Just started listening to the RadioLab podcast, and if you want something completely silly check out Cox 'n Crendor.
One day I'll get around to finishing Final Fantasy VI. Until then, Harvest Moon is my totally not guilty pleasure.
I have posters of art by Schiele, Monet, Bierstadt, and Singer-Sargent.
Now you know.
