Busking Music

So after my first taste busking, I really want to go to Pearl Street as much as I can with friends and play fun music and make a few bucks. I sent a message around to everyone about busking music and chamber music parties, and people seem down for both. Brune messaged me last night about busking today but when I got to the library I didn't find a ton of good violin duets. It took a bit of searching but I think we have enough classical duets.

Now I'd like to find arrangements or arrange my own versions of popular songs or jazz / fiddle tunes. I was so excited about the possibilities that I couldn't focus to practice and have started working on some Mark O'Connor fiddle tunes from the Appalachia Waltz CD. There's a great arrangement for two violins of Appalachia Waltz online, and I might just buy it because (especially with only Finale NotePad) figuring out all of the notes is a painstaking process for me. I think Chief Sitting in the Rain would be lots of fun, but it's fast and that's slowing me down. I think there are octaves at the end which would only be in unison with two violins playing. Once I get a few songs done, hopefully next weekend Brune and I can go busk.

Lauren has a nice collection of quartet music for busking that we used last time. I will definitely have to steal some of the arrangements. I know I'm being ambitious but I'd really like to be able to arrange my own music. It will be a big test for my ear. I will try to get some Christmas songs (that Lauren doesn't have) ready in time, though idk how late in the year we will busk. We were joking about caroling with this great fugue, though.
