I don't usually remember my dreams for more than a few minutes after I wake, but tonight I had the most realistic, if not transparent, dream in my life. A lot of my dreams involve me being chased by something. Not this one. Mom asks my friends to play some sort of chamber music etude, much to my chagrin. Oddly, only Jim was playing his actual instrument (viola) and I don't know why he was in my dream at all, since I dislike him so much. Cici played the harp and Dean played bass.
Cici and I tried to turn off my computer speakers, drank absinthe, and went for a drive. Before we got anywhere we saw some friends behind us, so we turned around. We were on a golf course and we greeted a bunch of my friends, although it was a mix of my real friends and they don't all know each other. For example, it was great to see Alicia, and though they were at Vanderbilt together I don't think Cici knew her.
I had another, shorter dream that I've mostly forgotten. All I recall is that I was dancing, running, and singing around the pews in a big church, along with some other people, dressed in white robes. I thought about trying to write down the song in my head, but I never quite get it (dictation) right.
Hopefully vivid dreams are a good sign of a renewed creative life. I didn't write any poems last night but I feel poetic today.
