Raccoon!

I finally got a really good picture of the campus raccoon, who I always keep an eye out for. Generally, I don't have my camera, but I was on my way to our Christmas concert dress rehearsal and I wanted to take a few more pictures to show Becca and Emma. It's difficult to get super sharp focus. I'd like to do some tests with both lenses just to see the differences. When I blow up my pictures on my computer I can see the blurry edges that people talked about with this lens. It's a nice effect. The bokeh is amazing.

Anyway, here is the best picture I got of the raccoon. He seemed very calm tonight and didn't run away like the last time I got close. I was less than 10 feet away.

I spent the rest of the night (after I attempted to start my bibliography paper) talking on Facebook and fiddling with RAW files. I really don't know how to edit my photos, except for exposure compensation and fixing white balance. I did learn the theory of using curves. But right now it's not worth my time, because I can't do any better than the in camera JPEG editing. I don't think I expanded the dynamic range (next I'll try combining bracketed images to make a proper HDR picture) correctly. Another important thing I need to learn is how to stitch together panoramas. Maybe Dad can help teach me some tricks about post production.
